Summary: Set in Medieval Europe, about a princess engaged to someone she doesn’t want to marry, so she starts sleeping with his brother, but not out of love. When this brother falls in love with her and asks if she loves him, she hesitates.

My Take: I really like this story. I think actually the only part I dislike about writing it is that it's sort of Medieval, hence the weird language. I mean, Kristen isn't an ordinary princess--it's astounding how much her father lets her do and get away with--and she wants to control the world, forge her own path. That's her streak of independence, and she believes that she can do anything. But, as my readers can attest to, she just seems to be digging her grave deeper and deeper.

“Kristen, I’m not so much in the mood for it tonight,” he murmured.

“It’ll be a nice distraction no?” she asked, kissing him again.

His temper flared. “Really though, I don’t feel like it,” he kept it cool.

“But…” she was running her lips down his neck. It did feel sinful, but he was tired and he just wanted rest.

“Honestly, why do you insist on this practically every other night? I get the impression you don’t really care about how I feel and that you are using me for yourself. I can’t deal with this as well as an invasion! You’re engaged to my brother for bloody sake! If you hate him so much, why come after me with this? Do you even really care for me?”

Her eyes showed nothing but uncertainty. And then, five seconds of hesitation.

It was enough for him.

He stormed out, an ache in his heart forming like a giant crater. She didn’t care about him. What had he been expecting? The biggest heartbreaker in the kingdom, coming after him?

It was laughable.

And he’d fallen for it.
